LEGAL SPEEDING - Products include a Helmet Mounted Radar Receiver with the flashing LED Warning and a Sport Bike Radar Mount

Something you might wanna think about... pretty neat device.

If you want the best - V1 or K40's.

Henry - yes - radar guns can be operated in an "instant on" method meaning they don't emit anything til the officer pushes the button to trigger a burst. In speed traps where they think they will get vehicles one at a time, this is especially used so that oncoming traffic doesn't have any early warning that the officer is hidden around the next bend or up in the treeline.

In other settings like while moving or trying to slow everyone down or get the speed of a group of vehicles moving past them - they may operate the guns in a constant mode - that way they know everyone's detectors are going berserk, slowing everyone down for a mile or so coming and going. If they know the group of cars is moving one speed, and another car is passing the group at a higher speed, they can guesstimate the speed of the faster car.

Laser is just another type of signal used instead of high frequency microwaves. It is more precise and can be aimed like a rifle, scope and all, so that one vehicle can be singled out even in a group of vehicles.

Thanks AJ.
In the UK we've had the cops using speed guns for years but rarely do you come across them. I've been caught speeding once or twice though not for a long time now.
Given the cuts in public spending that have had to be dished out to most public sectors, including the police they have by and large turned off the fixed speed cameras and are now implementing more random checks which may mean a radar detector would be a good investment. So far I've been warned by oncoming drivers that there's something going on ahead and have managed to slow down, forewarned but sooner or later......
I don't want to loose my licence.
Interesting thread. Food for thought. Thanks all.

I had a V-1 when i had my mustang and boy did it save me alot of tickets. It works wonders no matter the terrain.

Just a little FYI on a past experience with this one. I dont condone this and all that blah.

Me and another mustang are racing down I20 doing about 120 and i get a laser pop so i start slowing down right away. The other guy kept going and about 10 seconds later im doing 80 while he is still around 100. I see the cop get into his car and the truck sees the cop so he starts slowing down and gets right infront of me. The cop pulls up next to him hits his lights and then cuts me off to pull him over. The only reason i didnt get popped to was because of that V1.

If i ever have a car again i will be buying another one. I paid about 200 but got mine from craigslist.

Valentine One radar and laser detectors

EDIT: They guy who made the fastest trip across the US also used a V1. Found in the 3rd paragraph
