Default radar detectors

ive gotten used to the pig alarm in my truck and id really like to have one on my bike.
been thinking about just using the one from my truck but idk where id link in to get the power and not sure on where to mount it. id like to take it apart and mount the ledscreen somewhere different than where i install the detector, rather not trash a 200$ peice of electronics.
if anyones got any ideas for me id like to hear.

As for the power, I just wired up a cig lighter in my trunk. It really wouldn't be too hard to wire one up in the front cowl. Or you could cut off the end of the power cord and hard wire it in with a fuse and a relay off of the headlights or the running lights. I don't use my front running lights so I could wire it directly into the running light circuit.

IMHO it's one more piece of junk I don't need on my bike. It's DEFINITLY something I wouldn't need distracting me in traffic.

Crap, I am trying to find the info on a unit that mounts in your helmet. Not the Sportvue, which does allow you to hook a radar detector to. This is something else that actually shows a little light in your helmet to let you know the detector is going off. Then you can get a mount and mount it behic=nd the windscreen and use it.
