Default how many are too many

just thinkin about somethin. i'm gonna be using my 06' as my main transportation pretty soon (thats why i bought it). lets say i put 15000 miles a year on it and change the oil every 2 grand and kep it 4 years. that would be about 30 oil changes. can too many oil changes wear out your oil pan threads if you use honda's 22lbs/ft torque spec? some of you guys have a lot of miles and just wanna get a feel for how she'll hold up over the years? thanks

I really don't think you have much to worry about on the oil pan threads. I would change the oil every 3K. Every 2K IMHO is a waste of oil and money. I use Mobile 1 15w50 and I go every 3K.

As for life of the motor? I really don't know. I don't think I have seen a high mileage F4i yet. I know there are some really high mileage F2's and F3's so I am sure with care the F4/F4i will last a long time. Just keep the wheelies down and try to keep it shiny side up and it will definitly last longer than 4 years.

well mine had about 30,000 miles on it (wrecked it) and it still ran perfect didnt even change the cam chain tensioner but did do the maintenance schedule. i used quaker state synthetic blend high rpm oil every 3-4000 miles and had the valves done once.

As long as you're not cranking down hard on the drain bolt, it'll be fine and you'll most likely never have to change it. The only thing that wears out is the crush washer, which you're supposed to replace every time anyways but you can usually get away with using it over several times. I have 61,000 miles on my F4i, oil changed with Mobil 1 every 5k miles since new, and still the original drain bolt and she still runs like brand spankin' new. I may be adding alot more miles soon as I may have a new job which is gonna be a 120-ish mile roundtrip commute daily
