People that own bikes and don't ride them-Why?
How many of you know people that have bikes and don't ride them very offten? I know alot. My boss has a nice *** 96 KAW Volcan 1500 that is custom painted and has tons of mods and he has rode it like 4 times this year that I know of. Anotther guy I work with has a Harley? it's big and black and he has put less than 1K on it this year. I know a girl that has a 954 and she will not ride it-just drag races it at the track from time to time and my Grandpa has a Sportster 883 with more mods then it has a right to and he never rides it.
I have had my F4 forabout a month and a half and I have put over 2k on it and never ride it to work.It was even in the shop for a whole week gettinga full servce done and anew CCT and sprockets installed. I just ride it in my free time every chance I get and have taken a few small roade trips with it. I don't see the point in having a bike and not useing it. Why pay the money and insureance to say you have it?
I have a custom Dodge Dakota thatI don't drive that much, but that's becauseI have the bike. And I am trying to seel the truck so it don't sit.
This topic was just on my mind and wanted to see if anyone else knows any fake bikers.

I bought two Ninja 250's back in 2003 from some dyke that had bought them for her and her G/F to ride. She had owned them for almost a year and a half when I bought them. One had 4 miles on it. The other had 74 miles.
My 636 had 42 miles on it when I got it. Same deal almost. Guy had it for close to 16 months.

I remember when my bike was down, and I couldnt ride, weather was beautiful and I had to drive the cage to work everyday. I would leave, and see my neighbors car gone, and his 05 gsxr chined up. It drove me absolutely bonkers. I don't know, consider me one of the people who wants to have a bike and ride it too!

Yeah I know, my brother in law has a 2003 XB9R and only has 1600km on it. He does have 2 kids and a cobra project, but still, drive it to work at least. He live like a 4 minute drive from work, no problem to drive on the bike, its nuts. I'm between bikes ATM and it really kills to see a nice bike sitting there for months on end, while I'm driving around in the cage. I like my cage, but its no bike.

I can see why it happens in some case. For example, if i had a cruiser and a sportbike i would rarely ride the cruiser. I would never buy said cruiser just to have it, but i would buy one for a specific purpose or something. Like if every once in a while i got on crazy long cruises, I'd much rather ride the cruiser.
Now as for people that choose to drive a car over a bike and let the bike collect dust.... F them. I know plenty of people like that, and they always seem to run their mouth about their bike and how fast it is even though they never ride it.
I do appreciate that type of person though, otherwise how would i be able to buy a 10 year old bike with so few miles. I got my F3 with 13k on it, which isn't that low mileage, but at the rate i ride it, I'll be putting around 15k on it per year.
For my next bike I'm thinking about getting an interceptor, maybe a few years old. i've been looking around and it seems like they get the fewest miles per year out of all the bikes I would want to get next. So I gotta say that I love those people that don't ride their bikes much.
