I always let the bike warm up in the garage with the door open. Most of the time my girlfriend is letting her's warm up too. We haven't had any complaints from the neighbors and we ride almost every day. I've got a yosh shorty and she has a micron. Two of the four neighbors own a bike so I wouldn't expect any complaints from them (even though theirs are stockers and quiet).

 

I rarely let my bike idle for any longer than 30 seconds. I do full choke until I have all my gear on then choke is completely off. never had a problem, granted I know the oil needs to warm up but I have a good 5-10 minutes of frequent stop/go traffic before I even have a chance to rev the engine pass the 3k mark
