Keeping the bike in a open parking lot
Yeah I am def getting a cover, and then getting a disc lock and chain soI can lock it up to my jeep. Also trying to convince my parents to help me pay for the low-jack for my birthday (in Jan)... I am feeling low-jack is an almost must for me since the bike will be outside 10 months of the year if not more until I can get a house with a garage
Chain it to the Jeep, get an alarm with a proximity sensor so when someone gets close, the alarm pants. If they are drunk and don't move away, the alarm will go off, giving your key chain fob an alert and you can check it. That would be my first choice.
ya...my .02
if u cant put it inside, which i read u cant
disc lock...alarm w/ proxmity alert....lo-jack...chain it to your jeep and/or a light pole, street sign, tree, or anything else firmly in the ground...cover it w/ a cover that locks to the bike...and if possible make sure its in a well lit, well patrolled by guards(assuming they patrol, or w/e) area, so more people can see if it is getting jacked...as close to your room as possible, within view if possible...also, if you do get a chain, try to run it through the frame and/or both wheels if at all possible...well, with all that, i think youd b pretty safe
haha

I seriously feel like a broken record saying this all the time but my experience has been so good that I have to tell you. Call State Farm and ask for a quote with full coverage (including theft) on your bike and whatever coverage you want on your jeep. Make sure you do both together though or you wont get quoted a good price. Im 21 with an accident on my record and I have full on my ducati and liability on my jeep for about $100 a month total.
This will not only take care of your theft problem but then you also get to enjoy full coverage if you wreck your bike doing something stupid. Not the cheapest route but a very good sollution none the least.

I would leave the bike at home in my parents garage. It is almost Jan. and your riding time is so limited anyhow. I wouldn't want to leave my bike outside to weather, get vandilized or stolen.A college situation is loaded with would be trouble makers. JMHO
I like th idea of chaining it to the jeep but then it vulnerable when you are in the jeep...sadly there is no excellent way. People can just pick it up if they want. Maybe chain to a utility pole of sorts?
I am going to hold off on bring it down til I can get low-jack installed. so in the mean time I am going to try and talk with campus police to see if they have any suggestions, see if there are camera in certain lots, or see if there is a accessible place where I can lock her up
