^^ i once ran my ipod through the washer AND dryer...it still worked

Flash memory or hard drive?

I did a full wash cycle with my old phone. Let her dry and she works just fine. I laugh when people throw electronics away.

What do you mean cars come "iPod ready?" It's just a freakin' 8mm jack! You can plug ANY audio source into it!
Yes you can, but I'm talking about "iPod-ready", NOT the 8mm jack. The 8mm jack is ANALOG audio. The "dock connector" from vehicles (like Audi, BMW, Dodge, Chrysler, Mercedes, etc. etc.) supports high-bandwidth digital audio from the playback device (iPod) straight into the car's audio processor. Yes, anything can be plugged in using the 8mm jack, but it's a low-voltage pre-out.........and it's quality depends on the volume level of your device, as well as the EQ setting from your device. The "dock-connector" or "iPod ready" sends the digital file to an audio processor either built into the car's radio, or is a seperate unit altogether. The radio/unit then decodes the file and sends it to the radio, where you get the cleanest sound possible. THAT is what I mean by "iPod-ready". There is more to it than just a connector guys. Using the 8mm jack is like hooking up your Xbox using the Yellow/Red/White connection when you could be using HDMI. Same goes for the "iPod-ready" connection.......analog versus digital.

The only true iPod ready items are aftermarket CD players that come with true iPod-only connectors, such as the ones Alpine makes.
False. Yes, aftermarket players have the iPod connectors, but so do auto manufacterer's. Like I said earlier, Audi, BMW, Dodge, Chrysler, Mercedes, and many more have the actual iPod dock connector as an option on their factory stereo units. (my next door neighbor's BMW M5 has the iPod connector, as well as my neighbor across the street with a Dodge Caliber.)

Blue Fox says that all you have to do is burn a CD, then rip it back to your computer.... hello? that's 2x the work! With non-iTunes-based players it's a one step process.
False again. What I "said" was that if you wanted to take music FROM iTunes and copy it to ANOTHER device like a Sansa, Zune, etc. You COULD do this as an option to get around the copyright. I guarantee you you can't take ANYTHING from the Zune store and put it on another device because of similar copyrights on the file.

.............But of course, Tennessee and James already knew all that, so they HAD to be just pulling my leg, "acting" like they didn't know what they were talking about, right?
