tell me more about this Zen you speak of. My Ipod was stolen a few months ago, and I have been shopping around. I dont need it for videos...just my music.

 

I have a 20 gig Creative "Zen". It works great, and is compatible with Rhapsody (I hate iTunes).

She might be screwed because the ipod plays m4a's and i'm not sure if the zen does...anyone?

 

That's very true Greek. I tried to load some of the songs I bought from Rhapsody to my son's iPod and it didn't work. It could only covert songs that I had uploaded to my hard drive. However, I was able to transfer songs from my brother;s iTune library to my Zen...I guess after all that, I don't know for sure. I'll shut up now.

someone told me that I need to burn them to disk and then upload them again to change that? Is this correct?

 

Thats a MAJOR thing that sucks about the ipod. You have to have iTunes and it converts the songs, so you cant just copy and paste mp3's into it.

 

Only the music you buy from iTunes is m4a's. iPod fully supports mp3 (which is what all my music is imported as) When you go to iTunes preferences, you can select to either import m4a, lossless, or MP3 (which is what I import all my stuff incase I need to move my music to a different device.) Not to mention, you can always burniTunes music onto a CD, then re-import it as an mp3, then you don't have to worry about the copyright protection.

if u want something for audio then any mp3 player with a big drive will do.

if u want something for video then u want something that supports divx and/or xvid if it dont support it then dont buy it(like all apple players). PERIOD!!!! unless u dont care about quality.

the "ipod ready" is the dumbist thing in the world. not for the companys becouse they are making the money buy saying its "ipod ready". but to smart people. what is not ipod ready. how hard is it to connect 1 cord. its funny when i see steros and audio equipment say "satellite radio ready" "mp3 ready" y not just put "dumb**** ready"

what do u mean. i think its the other way around. when will ipod catch up with crative. crative has bigger screens,and plays more formatts and u dont need itunes. and ipod was sued by crative for pattent infringment a wile back.
