A4, you may want to do a search on the whole oil thing, but you don't want 'energy conserving' and make sure there is no moly like FLYOU wrote, it can make your clutch slip. A little may not hurt, but a full oil change with it can be a problem.

2 quarts low - lucky to have an engine at all. Keep an eye on it
50 lashes with sports shoe laces for letting it get so low....
