First fall/accident!! Interested in other's stories.
Hey folks! Had my first fall/accident today. I was in a single left turning lane going through the light when the truck behind me accelerated through the intersection and clipped me from behind trying to move into the right lane after the signal. Hurt like hell. Nothing a few staples in my knee can't fix (just went out to fill up around the block, wasn't wearing padded pants....bullocks..). On that note, i'm interested in everyone else's first drop/fall/accidents. Don't wish it on anyone of course, but it happens, so i'm curious about other's stories. Please share!
My first fall was way less interesting. I was leaving a party and had to drive over wet grass, hit the front brake for whatever reason then myself and the bike went straight into the dirt. Destroyed half my plastics, broke my blinker stalk and endured no small amount of embarrassment.
P.S. - Never buy Auctmarts fairings to replace broken plastics with. They should call that company Buyer's Remorse.
On the plus side I'm buying a new bike soon, a 05/06 gsxR 1000. Ima keep this one off the grass though. :P

First fall was on my current bike about a day after I got the break in miles out of the way. I was riding thru a scenic area called the Kettle Moraine, goin around a 15 mph posted bend, I was prob doing about 25, a deer come flying out of the woods and tackled me! Sending the bike and me sliding into the ditch, thank God it was a left corner so going down was pretty much all grass. Everyone always tries to correct me like I accidentally told the sentence wrong like " you mean you hit a deer?", no the deer hit me!! Needed a new left fairing was able to buff most of the other scratches out, my shoulder from where the deer nailed me hurt worse than anything

Long story short, I low-sided my brand new Buell XB12r in a ditch taking a corner to fast trying to beat a yellow. Combination of lack experience/training, waaayy too much bike for a noob(1st bike), and finally target fixation caused me to ride right off the road and into a drainage ditch at the apex. My left legwas pinned under the bike when the bike slid to a stop at the opposite edge of the ditch. Only thing is, the rest of my body still had lots of momentum. I ended up shattering both bone below the knee(tibia and fibula). I was told a couple inches higher and I'd have lost my leg.
Fast forward 2 years, I was finally able to walk(or limp) with cane. All surgeries and physical therapy behind me, the dust finally settled from losing my new house, new car, new bike and claiming bankruptcy(short term disability doesnt pay for ****), I took the MSF and upgraded to a Ninja 500.
I know most of this is out of the scope of the question, but I dont think the long term consequences of mistakes in our sport gets talked about enough.
