I dont remember exactly, but I thinks its around 10-11RPM.. Its considerably less than an inline 4cyl.

I guess how agressive your ride will also depend on if the VTEC kicks in at a dangerous spot. fwiw, If Iwas in a 20mph turn, I would most likely be 2nd gear, around 10-12k rpm on my F4i. When riding hard in the twisties, I never drop below 8k, 2nd or 3rd gear. If I'm that far down, I will drop a gear. nothing like the feeling of the front end coming up at 12000rpm on a corner exit
Yeah, the front end coming up out of a turn is exactly what I want to avoid. I find sticking to 3rd gear with low RPMs puts me right where I can crack the throttle as I come out of the turn to get the bike straight and stable without bringingthe front wheelup. For me, the thrill of the corner is all about the speed and the lean. I imagine I am just as leaned over as you and taking the turn just as fast, but not having to worry about inadvertent engine braking or losses of traction associated with being in too low a gear and having having the throttle play too much a part in the turn. Anyway, I don't think VTEC would cause me any problems if I were to take a VFR into twisties. Of course I doubt I would have the confidence and comfort on a VFR to take a 20 mph turn at 45-50 mph like I do on my 600RR.

I sat on a VFR at Laguna Seca and fell in love. If I chose a sport touring bike, it would be that one! It seems to be all sport with the comforts that you would want for a touring bike.

Well, your '01 does not have VTEC, if I remember correctly, but it is unlikely that the redline would have decreased. So with a redline at around 14K, the VFR should have no problems doing tight twisties at above 7K rpm if ridden in 2nd like krash like to. So I am still stumped why a bunch of people would be annoyed at the VTEC

I've never been able to take a turn in 2nd at high rpms. Tried it but you go too fast. Guess I need to find a longer turn.

So I have been looking at the interceptor. I like the looks and the feel and the single sided swing arm.
Cool looking bike....I say get it.
