Just bought a Honda CBR600F4i, some questions
I got a good deal on a 2002 CBR600F4i with 3,300 miles on it, but I noticed a few things about it. The owner was trying to put a tire on it before I got there, as he had a tire that could not be repaired. I didn't know all that much about the bikes, so I figured he just put on a stock size tire. It turns out he put on a 190 tire, and after reading some of the posts on here, i'm definitely thinking about getting rid of that tire, as it sounds dangerous (180 tire is what I should have). Will this compromise the ride? Also, how hot does your bike run. This one gets up to 229 degrees, and must say it is rather warm.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and if you can recommend a tire, that would be awesome.

Welcome denom!
A 190 tire is not dangerous due to the size. If you're going to split hairs, it has a tad bit more contact with the road but might feel as if the bike doesn't turn in as fast. Unless you are a super experienced rider, you won't really notice a difference.
229 degrees is hot. That's where it will run with the fan on and not moving for a while. That's a problem if it runs that hot while riding.
Tire recommendations are all opinions. You should base it on a compromise of how hard you ride, the type of roads you're on, conditions you ride in, where you live, and how long you expect them to last. To point you towards some good choices, more info about you is needed.

Any thoughts on things to do to bring the temp down?

Thanks for the fast response. I do appreciate it. It hits 229 if it's sitting still. It will range in temperature from 177 degrees to 201 if i'm just running around. At long lights it hits the hotter temperature, though rarely, and I can hear the fan buzzing.
I'm not an experienced rider in any way. I use to ride a Honda Elite 150 scooter (When I was literally 16), for a year, then I got rid of it. My friends told me to pass on getting a Ninja 250, as i'm not the smallest guy (6', 185lbs.). I've had the bike a month so far, and am just being cautious with it.
So I should keep the 190 tire until it needs to be replaced then? The tire has a lot of tread left on it. I just figured that it might affect the ability to steer the bike properly.
On a side note I don't know what aftermarket parts are on the bike. It has an exhaust system, aftermarket windshield, rear seat delete, etc... For all I know it may have an aftermarket rim on it. I'm going to take it in for a tune up in early November.

Congrats on getting your split-seat F4i w/ low miles.
74demon has you on the right track w/ his responses. As for the rear tire size, you're ok w/ running the 190. However, if you have the disposable funds, I'd put on a complete new set of tires (120/70 front/180/55 rear). Then, sell the 190 on CL.
When you get a chance, post up pics of your bike & we'll help you figure out what's what on aftermarket parts.
Also, in the F4i section, you can download the online version of the factory Honda service manual. Spend some time getting familiar w/ it. You can do much of the maintenance on your bike at home & save some money.
Good to have you w/ us. Welcome to CBRF! :-)

Around 220-something in the summer usually. It's tough to cool down when the air temp is triple digits.
I just popped the radiator cap the other day and it was a little low, so I filled it more and burped it. I'll see if the temp comes down any in a day or two, and then check it in a week or so to see if there is some kind of leak.
