Question Help wanted with battery draining.

I have a 1996 CBR that I recently purchased. The battery was about 1.5 years old and would not hold a charge, so I replaced it. I have had the new battery in for just about 10 days and it appears to be draining while simply sitting in the bike. I went for a ride last night with no problems. I went out to start the bike this morning and drained the battery in trying to crank the bike up. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

check the battery at ur local honda dealer and if it checks out good its most likely ur regulator, pretty common part to go out on a bike of that age.

R\R, then stator. Like sbf916 said, the R\R that comes stock in your bike is junk, and probably the problem. better check it out before it kills your new battery completely.
Here's a phenomenal thread on R\R troubleshooting:

The only thing of strange concern is that the battery is dying overnight. This COULD be that the R\R is melted and grounded out, but you could also have a short somewhere else, which could be tricky to find.

Was about to say something like this. I had the same problem when I got my bike over here. Apparently the jostling cause the PO's homemade LED 'kit' to come loose and shorted out. Battery dead overnight. I cut the crap out, threw the battery on a charger and haven't had a problem yet.

Checking the voltage I've gotten 12.5v consistently with the bike off since that first charge.
