hard to cold start
I took off the fuel tank and air box today to look at the choke cable. There is a LOT of free play in it. When you operate the choke lever, the cable doesn't move more than half an inch (if that). I am able to push the choke much farther with my finger than the cable operates it. In Clymer, it has a section on choke cable adjustment, but all it says is to check that it's seated properly in the clamp. I think I'm just going to get a new choke cable. I hope the dealership has one in stock, otherwise it will probably take a week to get one ordered or thru eBay. I'll post what happens.

Can't up adjust the one you have? If anything, you can cut the end off and then seperate and re-seat the end at a shorter length.
