Default Chain replacement

I searchecd and didnt find anythign... how often do you folks suggest changing your chain? Mileage or year whatever.. Thanks

To guage whether or not to change the sprockets you look at the teeth. The teeth will become poiny or "sharp" looking. They can also have a sweeping tidal wave look to them. Both mean you should replace sprockets and chain. 10-15k is a good estimate though.

Chainstretch is a better indicator. Most shop manuals will have the maximum stretch listed for a given number of links.

You can also pull the chain at the back of the sprocket. If you can see "a lot" of the tooth, then you need to replace it. It is also good pratice to replace the sprockets (front and rear) as they develope a wear pattern. I know "a lot" is a loose term, but it's all I got
