CBR250RR engine wont tick over.
I have a 1998 CBR250RR original australian import. Its having electrical problems at the moment but I don't know exactly what. It won't start. I turn the key, press the starter switch.. the headlights go out and the fuse blows. I took it to get serviced and they said that it was a faulty starter switch after they had checked it over. So I bought a new starter switch and it was working for about 2 rides. I stalled it on the weekend at the lights and went to start it back up by pushing in the starter switch and it would not work, just kept blowing fuses.
any idea what it could be????? the rest of the bike seems to run fine. I did end up starting it in the end by giving it a good push in 2nd but the headlights remained off.

Might be the starter going bad? When you try to start the bike with the starter it could be pulling to many amps and then blowing the fuse.
I would grab the manual for the bike and trace the wiring from the fuse block to the switch and the switch to the starter. Also get a voltmeter and check the wiring and see how many volts and amps is going to the starter and the switch.
