Default buzzing sound??

hey guys n gals i have a buzzing sound from the motor area. not really at idle but when the revs come up between 5 and 6 whether im moving or just sitting still. if i am moving and accelerate hard it wont buzz ill just hear a clean tone from the exhaust, but say i slowly wind it up ill def be hearing a buzzing sound from around 5 on up, or if i hold it there itll be there. it almost sounds like it could be somethin silly like a body mount or a shield of some sort loose or vibrating against something else. the bike runs and rides fine its just annoying and i dont like the sound. is this typical? has anyone got an idea what it might be? thanks in advance, -bmwguy

Default RE: buzzing sound??

The buzzing is coming from under the tank cover. It's rubbing up against some components right under it and is causing the buzzing noise. It'll eventually fade away, or you can take the tank cover off and apply some foam tape to where it's rubbing (you'll see the rub marks under the tank cover) Other than that, it's not a problem, just a noise.

Hope that helps.

CCTL, cam chain tensioner??? if you have an F4i then it is common if not normal. Do a search to find out more because mileage and whatnot may make it something to think about.

Mine does the same thing if it makes you feel any better.

Default Buzzing sound

I have a Cbr 600 f4i with about 16,000 miles and it buzzes as well. I also recently laid it down and it flipped...not alot of damage..just scratches and minor work..so may be the cause. Im curious about this cam chain tensioner though. When the clutch is in the sound instantly goes away and at high rev's, but just cruisin it's pretty annoying.
