Bike wont stay in second gear
Ok so what is happening is when I am in second gear around 3k rmp or fast acceleration it slips into neutral. You think I should just take apart the transmission and submit pictures of everything to see if I see anything before going the extreme route of checking the shift forks? Which on my year and model requires splitting the case which means taking apart the engine pistons all that jazz. What do you think? I am pretty mechanically inclined i just need a starting point. I dont want to take the engine out and fully dissasembled to find out they are fine lol

The symptoms you are describing is worn dogs, as far as I know nothing else causes this. It sucks, I know done it a few times now, on various bikes. Its a common thing to happen to sportbikes, usually caused by not shifting firmly enough. If you do change out the gears make sure to replace the forks along with any other worn part, no sense in having done the work only for the gear to wear out again. Also a pro shift kit will help stop excessive wear on the gears. Making sure you up shift firmly will help also.
You really don't have to completely tear down the engine in the sense of pulling the head, pulling the crank, and pulling pistons . You can leave that all in and still work on the tranny. All you need to do is pull the engine and pull things off such as side case covers, clutch, oil pump, and oil pan. Remove the top side case fasteners and turn the engine upside down. Remove the last of the case fasteners and now begins the fun part. Splitting the case halves.
Ok i needed to do an oil change and get new tires anyways so I went ahead and started the project. Fairings are off, tires are off, oil is drained it on stands. I figured i had a 2007 this whole time and its a 2006 haha i dont know if that will make a difference or not. Since my manual is for a 2007. Its a givin that I gotta get this motor out of the frame correct? I cant replace or check any of this with the motor in right??
Thanks

You may have a 2007 model, built in 06. Right now I have a 96 f3 model but it was built in 95. Take pictures now of where everything is routed, where hoses go and so on. Definitely remove the engine, if you can take the engine out and set it on a work bench, I think that's ideal. keep all related bolts together, I use sandwich bags and write with a Sharpe. Good organization now will really help reassembly later.
It says 2006 on the frame sticker.... Anyways... I am at work can anyone tell me the special tools list to get this job done so i can start hunting them down. I have all the tools except the rare ones, frame bolts transmission type bolts etc.
Thanks
