Bike wont stay on
Bike starts but as soon as i let off the throttle it shuts off. It was running great up until this happened. Went to pick something up down the road, it didnt start as easy as normal but it did start and I went down the street w/o a problem. As i was leaving it was harder to start and turned off as soon as i let off the throttle. Has this ever happened to anyone, any suggestions??
How long does the engine run before it stalls? Was the choke used? If so, how? Does this happen daily? Does it happen with engine hot or cold? Will the engine start and run normally the rest of the day (so to speak)? Does the problem only reappear next day after engine has cooled to room temperature?
Any additional details is helpful.

This just happened for the first time the other day. Before this the bike started up with no problem and ran fine. The other day for the first time the bike took some more throttle to start and when it did start it would die as soon as i let off the throttle. I was at the store when this happened and it stopped everytime i let off. It would start right back up if I held the throttle but then die at the next stop/light.
There are many issues it could be but start simple. Check your hoses, it could be vacumn related but it Sounds like maybe the carbs are gummed/plugged up and need to be cleaned. When was the last time they were looked at?
Thanks for the responses. I've put about 2000 miles on it since buying and that is the last time anyone has looked at it. I'll check the hoses and carbs tonight and hope that it is something simple i can tweak back into place.
My F4 will start up when it's 18 degrees out with no gas, just full choke. Have you always had to start it with the gas twisted? When it does not stall out, what RPM does your bike idle at? Stock setting shoud be about 1200 to 1500 RPM's
