Default Bike turns off by itself

Just recently my bike has been acting funny. It's an 01 f4i alittle over 10k on the odo. after the bike warms up it will start to idle ruff and then just shut off same thing happens while I'm driving and have the clutch pulled in. I need suggestions as to what might be going on with my bike.

Your bike should have two idle settings, onecold and one hot. When cold, it changes the fuel mixture to warm the bike up to operating temperature. It would seem as though your bike is doing fine there. When the bike switches to hot idle, the fuel mixture stabilizes and this is sometimes accompanied by a lower rpm idle or throatier exhaust tone. The engine is far more susceptable to minute variances at the hot idle setting. A vacuum leak or bad sensor would cause this type of problem. This could be as simple as looking for a vacuum hose that has come undone or loose, or a loose electrical connector. I am not familiar with your particular bike and how many sensors can trigger the MIL but if you have no warning lights on, then I would look for a vacuum leak first. You can get a test gauge at Auotzone and some vaccum hose to go with it for like 20 bucks. The "backyard mechanic" way to tell is to remove a vacuum line and see if the bike does the same thing as before. If so, that's your problem and then you just have to find the leak (pain in the a**).

Good luck.

another way to check for vacuum leaks if too spray the hoses with WD-40 while the engine is running. If the idle changes while you are spraying a certain spot....let it settle then spray again in the same spot. If the idle changes again, you found your leak.

I would first look for dirty air filters or a vacuum leak. It is possible that the pc could cause it though if you changed the map right before it started happening. Could be a low rpm fuel problem. Disconnect it or download a known goodmap and see if the problem is still there.
