bike turns over but won't start??? help?!
Hey guys/gals,
Ok so I have an '06 600 RR. I got in a wreck a while back and I finally got around to changing the plastics. Today I changed out ALL the plastics successfully, went to start it and it won't start. All lights turn on fine, even cranks, but it won't start. (speculate its not getting fuel).
Not everyone does this, but I turn off my bike with the "kill" switch. Obviously engage it to turn it back on. When you turn the swith to the "on" position, you can hear the fuel pump kick on. Then its o.k. to start the bike. Well I'm not hearing the fuel pump turn on at all which is why I'm assuming its not turning on, therefore not getting fuel.
Little previous history: I have 14,000 miles on it and every now and then when I flip the kill switch "on" to start the bike, the pump doesn't kick on, so I have to kind of nudge the kill switch then it kicks on. After that everything works fine.
Here is possible problems in my head:
1.) blown fuse is ruled out. Put my meter on them and all receive about 12V. I found 6 fuses under the left side fairing. Theses are the only ones I saw. Tell me if there is more...
2.) I may have screwed something up when putting it back together. I disconnected 3 harness plugs but was sure to put them back together correctly and securely. (double checked them)
3.) Fuel pump may have went out. Is this a common problem on these bikes?
4.) The kill switch may not be making contact to complete the circuit...
Please don't tell me to bring it to Honda, I already know that but prefer not to pay them $90/hour for them to search for 4-5 hours and make a $2 fix.
I've only been riding just short of a year, so kind of a nube. On the flip side, I used to install car audio and video for a major retailer. So I'm not an idiot when it comes to electronics, wiring, etc...
Any ideas help...thanks.

My first guess would be your bank angle sensor is either messed up, not hooked up, or not in the correct orientation. Im not 100 percent sure on your bike, but I think its located behind the headlight right in the middle. Check it and make sure you didnt put it in upside down. there is an arrow on it to show its correct orientation. Its primary job is in an accident, if the bike is on its side, it cuts power to the fuel pump. There should also be a fuel cut relay as well. Again, not 100 percent sure, but I think it is under your seat.
However, since you already had issues with kill switch in the past, that easily could be the issue now.
The fuel pump just going out is not a common problem, as far as I know anyway.

It was the bank angle sensor. I reinstalled it upside down! ha! I was kind of thinking it was that sensor but I didn't know what that was. I just didn't remember which way it went when I took it off, didn't think it made a difference. Thanks a bunch Justasquid. You saved me from letting the dealer rape me for a stupid mistake.
Those mistakes have been the most difficult to detect for me. I usually go straight to re-doing all of the steps instead of troubleshooting. lol
I'll make sure I've exasperated ALL other possibilities before Honda dealers see my bikes!!
