Just a thought it might even be just the linkage on the gear shaft

 

Thanks guys for all of the help! We will look at all of those and if it saves him money on a new clutch awesome but at lease you guys have given us great ideas. Good news is it is still winter weather in Michigan as another snow storm came through so we got some time to make sure sure runs before winter is up.
