turn signal wiring question
so i have a 2001 honda f4i, i recently put some flush mount turn signals in. the only way i could get the to work was wiring the green wire with the positive and the ground to the ground. well, i thought everything was all said and done but now my speedometer dont work and i have no tach, any body run in to this? need some help please
It's possible you blew a fuse. The green wire(s) are ground (negative). Then you have a running light wire and turn signal wire (both positive). I believe the solid colored one (either blue or orange) is the running light and the striped one is the turn signal.
Did the flush mounts you bought come with 3 wires? True, green is always ground on your F4i. You could start a fire wiring them up incorrectly, although thats what fuses are for. If you can afford to buy a manual get a Clymer, they have nice wiring diagrams in the back. You should have a positive, negative (ground) and probably a switch leg. My bike and manual are miles away otherwise I'd check. Keep your relays and relay wires intact for this.
Most of the time if you buy parts for your bike, its good to look at the back for installation directions. My package told me which wires were for what.
