I agree with most, Don't sell it over something you can fix. Also, I know what a pain in the A$$ it is to keep working on something over, and over, and over again, but I can also tell you that once you finally solve the problem, your going to feel GREAT about it.

you need a 6mm heli-coil kit. it should either come with a drill bit, or at least tell you which one you need. drill nice and straight!

Well i actually didnt know what a helicoil was the first time i took it apart. And why the helicoil? if i tap the threads in the first time cant i just go ahead and bolt it back into place? or are the threads to week to hold in the bolt. Also according to cheapcycleparts.com the bolts are 6x28. i still dont know which helicoil to use

THE LINK I POSTED HAD EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEEDED!!!! it is a 6mm 1.0 pitch with 28 threads. the kit comes with EVERYTHING you need, go to your local auto parts store they SHOULD have kits with everything in it and it tells you what drill bit to use if it doesnt come with it.

That means there is 28 threads in 1 inch of the bolt! if you just get the 6x28 you'll be fine. Also you have to realize that if you just ran a tap the same size in it there wont be enough material for the bolt to grab onto, thus needing the helicoil. good luck.

Try re-tapping the thread before drilling and heli-coiling. That should be a last resort.

nah i found out why the stupid bolt doesnt catch. Half of the casing is broke off. Someone snapped the tab over torquing it.. so i just got a longer bolt and a lock nut and squeezed the stator covor to the casing. It should be okay now. Ill post a picture of someones over torque headache.

And start a new thread with a different title... I can't stand reading "truly disappointed in my cbr" ... maybe like "to the douche who f'd my stater cover" or something like that
anyway sounds like you have found a solution so you can enjoy your cbr again
