Default Time to replace your fuel filter?

Hey guys, just wanted to give you a little FYI...

I got a new tank for my bike and figured I should change the fuel filter since I had to take the pump assembly out anyways. When I found out that the filter costs about $40, I almost didn't get it. But, I sucked it up and bought it. I'm glad I did, because when I blew in the old one it was very restricted - when I blew in the new one there is zero restriction. I just bought this bike, so I'm assuming it is the original filter with 15k miles.

Just in case you might be wondering if you should change your filter...

next time Put some fuel in New Filter and try that.
the old one has fuel still in it so it well always be harder to blow threw then a new DRY filter.

Not so sure about that. I emptied the fuel out of it and it has been sitting on my work bench for a week - still hard to blow through.

15k doesn't seem much on a fuel filter. Most automotive cars don't need to be changed till around 75k. Shoot on Mazda6's they don't even have a fuel filter
