Time to replace this oil pump?
Never noticed any oil pressure issues with my bike, but while doing a rebuild to replace a shot 2nd gear, dealer suggested I check the oil pump given the mileage of my bike (20 K). Seemed to gauge in spec, but the surfaced are scored. Replace, or save the money ($150.00!) for something else. Opinions? Thanks in advance.

20K miles is nothing for these bikes. If the clearances around the inner/outer rotor, and pump body are within tolerance, I wouldn't replace it. Those score markings are probably just normal operating wear marks. It's easy to "seed" the thought of doubt and get you to spend more money. I don't trust dealers any further than I can throw them. I'd go with what you know. You've never experienced any oil pressure problems, and these bikes are not known for having any issues with it.
