I don't think this is honestly the problem, but did you gap the plugs correctly?

I'll get 180 out of a tank no sweat.....

Dang I wish I got that. I get about 130 before my light comes on. That's an average of 36. Most of my riding is city so I don't really get above 6K

I've noticed depending on my riding habits I get anywhere from 35-50 MPG. To get It down to average 35 on a tank I've been riding like a total idiot...

honestly i didnt think about checking the gap...all the other spark plugs ive ever used were already gapped out of the box but ill check that. does anyone think this could be an injector problem?

People dont use motorcycles as daily commutes? It doesnt matter if its a cruiser/sportsbike/dual purpose/scooter, when you are getting <30 mpg out of a bike when you should be getting around 40 then theres a problem.

and thats my concern really, the fact that before i changed the spark plugs and fpr i was consistently getting minimum 40 mpg, most of the time it was closer to 45. im just afraid something is really wrong and if i keep riding it im gonna cause something more serious to go wrong. i also wanted to mention that there seems to be a lot of soot building up on the exhaust now too.

Was the FPR change due to fuel in the oil? I have an 01 F4i with almost 22,500 on it, a 2-Bro slip on, a K & N, and a PCIIIr. I have had it almost 1 month. When I first checked, it was getting about 37 mpg. I loaded the the stock MAP and since then I am getting about 40 - 41 MPG. I am going to do a plug change in the future as well as clean the filter. K & N says that the filter doesn't need cleaning unless you can't see the wire screen on the filter. Mine isn't that bad yet, but I intend to clean it anyway. How dirty is your air filter?

As for expected MPG, I expected to get upwards of 45. My 07 R6s consistently got 50 MPG. But as long as it's above 40, I can live with it.

i cleaned the air filter when i changed the plugs about 2 months ago. the bike started running funny, bogging down at low rpms and getting bad mileage and everything i read pointed towards the fpr, including the gas in the oil. but unfortunately nothing improved after i changed the fpr so now im kinda stuck. interesting update today though i jumped the connector to see about any codes and its telling me my vehicle speed sensor is faulty, but ive havent had ANY speedometer or gauge issues of any kind.

you know, i was gettin 130 to 140 miles pre tank, but lately ive been gettn 140 before the reserve pops up, so ive been endin up gettin roughly 160 city, i thin k my prob was bad gas, ive been usin 93 either shell, or chevron, seems there gas is of a better quality
