Plastic Weld
No, more like a soldering iron.
Check Harbor freight, usually the best prices in town but you get what you pay for. Their stuff is fine for light duty home use, but for work I'd splurge on pricier "quality" tools. (for anything they sell) Do a search and watch some vids, I just used a soldering iron and a lil patience and it seems to be holding up great.

permatex makes a epoxy called plastic weld you can get it at KRAGEN AUTO PARTS/O'REILYS.. I'm gonna use this myself this weekend.. do a search there's a post somewhere on here where the guy used it to fix his plastics.. looked like it worked really good.
Search for plastifix. My bike fell while loading it on the trailer and put about a 2" diameter hole in it with some nasty cracks. I used plastifix to patch the hole and fill the cracks almost a year ago. Still holding strong with no further signs of cracking or damage. Best part, $34.95.
