04 600rr engine with JB weld
I just found JB weld on my 04 600rr engine. Its in line with the oil sight glass and about 3inches towards the front of the engine directly behind the fairing bracket. I also noticed some oil leaking from this area but it could also be coming from the engine cover seal but it seems more likely its the JB weld!
Should I just pick up an 03 04 or 05 06 engine and swap it out. I spent all the money I have on this bike so I want to go with the least pricy route.
Anyone???
Will post pics soon.

Im sure its not gasket maker. Its 3 inches away from the engine cover, the size of a half dollar and hard as a rock. Hell I can even see finger prints left behind from who ever pressed it into whatever its sealing up (crack or open hole).
Here are the pics. They arent great but its a tight spot.

Ok even if it is JB wield covering up a small hole, what does it matter? I think the chance of there being a small hole or crack all by it self in the engine case with out seeing other cracks or major problems is slim. But even if it is, and the JB wield is holding why get a new motor, apparently it is running fine and you just noticed it and it is worrying you, and that is understandable, but I wouldn’t do something as dramatic as buying a new engine because of a little JB wield. I’d be more concerned as to what caused it and making sure nothing else is hurt without tearing down the engine. And I pose a question, if your radiator on your car was leaking and you put JB wield on the radiator to make it stop leaking and it held would you go out and buy a new radiator even though you don’t need it? Granted if it is JB wield depending on which version they used when they put it on it will; eventually be broken down by the heat and the petroleum, or it may last? Who knows but I’d go by the old saying, “If it anit broke don’t fix it”.
dont sweat it unless it is leaking alot...i see some rash on the bike, so its not perfect anymore anyways..concider grinding it down and clean with solvent and redo the repair to stop leak...ride the pi$$ out of it...if it pops , then look into a motor....peece
