I've ridden 300 trouble free high reving at times but mostly 7 grand motorway miles on the little cbr.

One thing that bothers me is the amount of flashes I get before the oil light goes out from cold.

Went out to the bike earlier to start it and it was as cold as it had ever been in my ownership (short!) and it clattered just a tiny bit before pressure was up..

My other bikes all fifty or so have gone out literally whilst cranking...

I just looked at a YouTube vid...and it's the same ..prolly normal lol

 

Maybe, maybe not. Remove oil-pressure switch and connect mechanical oil-pressure gauge. Measure cold and warmed-up oil-pressure at idle and 3000rpms. These 4-numbers will give more useful data on why light's flashing.

If you don't take care of issue and get definitive numbers, you may end up with engine like this.

It's since done about 700miles in total committing and riding long distances in the evening... If it was broken it would have let go long ago ...seen three other vids now...theyre all the same ...so not worried tbh...
