Default Was fun while it lasted 😢

So after all the hard work finally everything was good to go , took up to a big range road for a good thrashing, bike was riding really well stopped for a ciggerette and to take a quick video to show off to my mates ,

then started her back up and the red oil light came on. I had filled up with fresh oil all the way to the mark , so was a bit badgered but concerned

pulled away and an almighty clunking noise coming from the engine, I turnt the bike off , realised I’m a good 5 km from home surrounded by nothing but forest so started back up and started to drive back , engine was banging and crashing but had no choice but to keep driving otherwise I was stuck , bike cut out I then dropped in to 2 and managed to restart as was still moving then cut again!!!

got off and pushed her about 3 km home, and also dropped it for good measure and because tank wasn’t screwed down that came off and was pissing petrol out everywere !!

hmmmm gutted

Mate!! I will leave it for a few days then I’ll have a think about next step , I’ve found an engine for 150€ if I get it for 100 and get it all swapped and back together then I’m 500€ in can still sell it and make a few hundred , other option is binning it but it’s a waste so I don’t think after all the work input in I would but we’ll see! But while it was running Mannn it felt good super low thou I felt really small on the road , I drive a vstrom so I’m used to towering over everyone but Yh gutted mate

Aww, sucks after getting it all back together.

NEVER EVER run bike with oil-light on. Oil light is for low oil-pressure, nothing to do with oil-level. Might be bad oil-pump, oil-fitre clogged or stuck oil-pressure relief valve.

Well, good thing is you can probably find used engines from breakers easily. Most give you some time to inspect before completing transactions. Or you can ask them to do compression test to verify.

eBay - PC19 engine

Engine arrived, is there anything I should do before the swap? I will drain the oil , is there a way of cleaning out all of the cylinders ? But wondering if anyone had any advice on any checks that should be carried out before install , it
