Default making noise, need suggestions please

i noticed today when i took my bike out for a ride, when i start out in first something is grinding down around my foot area, it only does it when im starting out in first. any suggestions? i figured might be something with my front sprocket but just threw this up to see if anyone else has had the same trouble and point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

i know a guy whose chain was so loose that it took off a piece of the metal housing the engine. might want to check if your chain is not too lose.

If it were the sprocket it would do it all the time. Since it only does it in first gear it leads me to believe its in your transmission, probably the clutch.

is it possible you dont hear it after you get moving because of the wind?

i'd check your brake pads to and your wheel bearings although wheel bearings usually start making noise after you get moving.

Clean and lube your chain. When was the last time you did either? Often a chain that is not maintained will make noises like that and is usually heard at low speeds. If it doesn't happen when you're not moving and isn't affected by the clutch i'd say you' tranny is fine.
