I check my slack regularly. It just has never needed adjustment. Well now that I think about it I had tires mounted about 5k ago. That was around April 07. I just adjusted sometime in January.

I did notice that after the adjustment it slackened from where I set it ON THE FIRST RIDE. But it's still within spec so I didn't tweak it any further.

I have DIDs on mine and it has 15500 miles on it. I had to make an adjustment at 13000 miles. At the time of installation of my new tires, guy said its time for a new chain. He said sprockets are still good but I probably going to get new set.

This post replied most of the questions I had in mind. I need the same discussion for clutch kits. Thanx.

Clutches can be done by inpection. There is a spec for the plates, springs, etc. I recall seeing a How-to somewhere. I'm sure someone will chime in.
(sorry for threadjacking)

Just put an RK XSO 520 chain on my bike....put on about 1000 miles so far...the only adjustment I had to do was after 5 or so miles and it was just a small minor one....I will post back the next time I do an adjustment.
