Iv'e got well over 8k on my current chain, and IIRC it's an RK. I'll have to check when I get home. But at the same time, whether I have DiD, RK, EK, JMG, TGY, HRL, or whatever, I will still have my chain guard on.

I have honestly yet to see a chain fail, be it in the street or dirt, unless itwas a severly over worn chain. I know when it comes up I need a new chain I am prolly going with RK for the value and availability and I don't have any reservations about quality. Just my opinion. Then again I take real good care of my chains so maybe that is why I never have had an issue.

ek...extreme stretching after only 1K...
RK...extreme stretching after only 1K...
after this i went all DID...but the stocker on the bike was RK...and lasted a good while.
not talking about how sometimes the chain breaks in and stretches...but we're talking i'm adjusting every ride...and that was my daily commute to work!

RK...fellow rider...chain broke off...not at the master either.
my riding coach...EK...premature stretching...but he rides like a biatch...wheelies everywhere...but power, not clutch.
before that, RK...didn't last 5K...

none of us have had any issues with DID...ever.

To me and my personal experiances with different chains and none of them have had a problem, I just cannot agree with you, lol sorry. The last chain and sprocket set I put on my buddies bike was a Regina chain and SunStar sprockets. It was a cheap kit because he knew it was selling the bike and he did not take as good of care of his chain as I did and his bike was stored outside....we put about 1-2k on that setup and I never noticed anything wrong or every needing any adjustment....granted it was not that long, but that is all i got. You sure you are leaving enough slack in the chain when you install it?

And now we just put an RK chain on his new 600RR, so I will let you guys know how that goes.

yea we adjusted it properly.
and don't just go out and buy DIDs now...because it could just be a case by case basis.
TBF has had good luck with RK, etc...i haven't, my ride buddies haven't...but there are many others who swear by DID or RK or EK, etc...
so the best thing to do is...go out, buy one and try it out yourself...cause i'm totally subjective...i have lab tests to back my claims, just what i have personally experienced.
jay...i believe you should check your chain slack weekly...not every 8K! mauahahahhahahhahahah
