When I was younger my then next door neighbor and I challenged each other to go out for a ride one Sunday when the actual temp (not wind chill) was 7*F below zero. That was the coldest I've ever ridden in, although I used to ride a lot when the temp was slightly below freezing. I wore a scuba diving wetsuit under my regular clothing and it wasn't too bad. That was years ago.

More recently, several weeks ago I went out for a ride when the temp was 29*F. Coming out of a parking lot and turning right I barely gave it any throttle but the rear end started to slide out due to the cold tires. I saved it but I decided that the CBR would be spending the rest of the winter down in my basement while I wait for the spring thaw.

I will ride unless there's ice on the road... below 30* takes a bit to get used to. I wear a thin fleece jacket under my riding leather; keep your core warm and the rest of you tends to stay a bit warmer.

I rode to work at 13* a few weeks ago... It's not too bad as long as your bundled up.

I love my bike. I love Riding. I love CBR's and I love CBR Forum but I hate to say this. If you
(1) Don't ride in slight rain
(2) Temperature a little below freezing
(3) Blah Blah Blah

YOUR NOT MAN ENOUGH!
Sell your bike! Seriously!

There is no fun in spending $10,000 on something that your gonna use for only 3 months but thats just me.

Sometimes weather can change very fast but, a really good selection of gear and extra layering will keep you warm even in the worst weather ever. Keep riding!

i agree with alot of you that when its too cold you actually can't really enjoy the ride. numbing fingers is the first sign its not too fun anymore ha ha. but i do agree with you on that superlund, that i made an investment in the bike to ride and thats what im gunna do, but some days it goes from being fun to becoming a chore just to get home.

for me personally, anything under 35o and im taking the 4door ha ha

I would disagree - my bike is just another toy. I use it for fun, not to prove how tough I am. As such, I will keep my bike and ride it when it is nice out which makes for an enjoyable ride.

I will usually ride to work if it is above 50 when i am planning to leave. I tend to kind of use that as my cutoff - not sure why, but at some point I decided that was my comfort zone.
