f4i starts, won't run unless holding starter
My 03 f4i has been running beautifully for a while, but yesterday I went to start it, the headlights wouldn't come one, and it would start and die as soon as I released the starter button. The fuel pump does not prime.
Both headlights do not turn on when the key is at the "ON" position or after the engine has started and running. High beam headlight doesn't respond when the high beam button is pressed. On the initial start-up of the gauges, the high beam light indicator is lit, but the lights stayed off.
I took apart the starter button, the headlight wire was still well soldered to the correct terminal, following this post

Checked the 10A headlight fuse, not blown.
Help?

Do you have a solder gun? I would try to reflow the solder if you do i have seen a "cold" solder looks like the wire is attached but for some reason there is no connectivity. (I work on fa18s electronics) happens alot with them hope this works otherwise i have no idea would like to see how u fix it
i just had this same problem, hopefully its the same thing and this can save you some time

check the ground wire on the headlight harness.. probably corroded.

I took off the nose, and went through the wiring. traced the problem to a severely corroded splice that the pervious owner had butchered.
my biggest battle was realigning the wiring to put the nose back on, lol.
thanks for the help guys
