91 F2 starts and runs great, dies, sits starts again
Ive got a 91 f2. The fuel system is all cleaned from the tank to the carbs. I believe this problem is electrical/ignition related. after sitting for a while and cooling off the bike will start and ride fine with great throttle response for about 3 miles it will suddenly loose power and not start again for 30-40 minutes and same thing happens..
Any ideas?

I'd agree that you should look at the R/R problem first, but only buy a cheap used one to test out. Could also be a carb vapor lock type problem, but my bet is on electrical for now.
The rectifier may not be charging the battery 100% and so the battery dies....then you let it sit and the battery slowly regains charge.
You start the bike again, only to have the r/r charge it partially and the cycle continues

That battery is not going to recharge itself sitting there. if it doesn't have the juice to run the bike running, it sure as heck won't have the juice to crank for the restart.
