I replaced my FPR - the PO had installed it with the little rubber plug still in the hole for the line? Weird. Anyway - same problem.
I'll see if there are any new codes this year and repost.
Got my FPR from Heartland Honda - bought some grips too so it only cost me 50 bucks. (they have a 75$ minimum order I think..)
Have to fix the tank vent - so far running it with the cap open or it pressurizes/vacuums.

That little plug was most likely the problem. Glad you got it squared away.

Can you elaborate on this? Where was the rubber plug?

They are shipped with a small plastic plug in the FPR orfice to prevent dust/dirt from getting in there. Must be removed before install.

Not to be confused with the rubber o-ring that it needed for the install.

Default RESOLVED my running issue

After having this issue where the bike would run extremely rich and then cut out I found that all the tines in the temp sensor were bent at the SAME angle so that the connector wasn't making complete contact. It would seem to be alright but it wasn't. It looked PERFECT. After about 50 attempts to check it I finally had somebody else look at it - my instincts were right but I just couldn't see the fault. Simple mistake but I don't feel bad because i really went over this thing.

So maybe the temp sensor should be replaced every so often just for giggles. A little extra resistance was all it took to make the bike FAIL.

That's my contribution. Thanks for reading folks!

the fuel mileage seems fine. the smell of un-burnt gas is normal. older bikes like the f4i are less efficient than more modern sport bikes. however, this is based off my 02 f4i that's overdue for a valve adjustment.

Default Fuel economy..

I've been putting about 1.5 gallons a week through this thing... and I usually go through at least 1/2 tank on my truck doing the same drive. I think that's about 200 miles a week. Maybe 150 depending on how awful the fuel gage in the truck is.
This will probably go down now that i fixed the fuel map in the PCII.

Question about noise - never owned a CBR before so what's the engine supposed to sound like mechanically? I've a whine which I assume is the APE chain tensioner. Anything else I should (or shouldn't) be hearing?
