Default Is a remapping needed can It be remapped

Let me just start off I have a 1999 cbr 600f4 it is carbed. People are saying I need it remapped because it shoots flames on a backfire. Sometimes the flame is blue and other times it's orange. It's not good in my opinion. I was just wondering what I could do to stop the flame. The person I bought it from has an aftermarket exhaust if this does anything.

thanks I appreciate any answer

Remapping is for EFI. You're carb'd. Could be your carbs, could be something else. But remapping is not going to happen with that bike.

As Conrice says, culd be your carbs, but it could be something else as well.
What's the fuel economy you are getting? You're bike could be running rich making it gas thirsty. Have you checked your air filter , is it clean? The flames coming out of the exhaust is unburnt fuel usually seen on bikes running rich, often exacerbated by aftermarket exhausts
