Default Questions about K&N filter and remapping

I have an 01 F4i with a D&D pipe on it... it still has stock intake settings, so it's running lean as it is. I've been told that with a K&N filter, I'm going to definitely need to get it remapped. Right now with the D&D, it heats up to 230+ pretty fast.

Any other suggestions for engine mods I should/could do? Pretty new to bike mods, have a little automech experience, just not on bikes.

*Sidenote: also, anyone know where I can get a carbon fiber rear hugger?

Appreciate any and all info!

you can get a power commander map for a D&D pipe and K&N filter should solve your problems, what other mods do you have? shouldn't need engine mods
is your D&D a full system or slip-on?

you will not need to remap it any more than it needs it now. the k&n flows the same as the stock filter. i've seen tests on cars where the k&n will outflow a stock filter, but not on a bike. the only advantage with the k&n is that you will never need to buy another filter.

ditto the K&N alone won't require a new map, but if the exhaust is a full system, it would help
