well, i was not able to avoid scratches on my perfectly looking side fairing But it would be far worse w/o them. What do you mean by "no cuts"?

you didnt have to cut your fairings to fit the frame sliders, aka no cuts, and they suck, get some vortex or woodcraft and be done with it, i personally got the vortex shorties, and have lowsided at 40mph and only got scratches on the fairings.

Yeah, regular frame sliders are a straight bolt the goes into you rear engine mount and straight out through your fairing. They don't fold up on impact like the no cuts do.

actually, i did not have to cut the fairings on my old bike. i just installed the frame sliders through the bolt that holds the side fairings.

Its pretty simple. Take tank off, airbox, sparkplug boots. 3 screws and the cover comes right off. Install is opposite.

Do you think I can reuse the gasket? I hope so. They run for $40 at bike bandit. Thanks for your input.

You may be able to re use that gasket. Take a look at it. See if it looks squashed and use your best judgement. It it looks thick and soft yo ushould be good. If it looks thin, old, or dry rotted you're better off replacing it.

Make sure you're looking at the right gasket too. You're not looking for a head gasket but a valve cover gasket
