RE: arghhhh....dam* oil filter
+1 on what they said...
the first time i took mine off it was a bitch much like yours...but you said you poked a hole in the filter, but that isn't really all you do....
and i know this was in the other thread but here...
poke a screwdriver ALL THE WAY through the filter...just be VERY careful to do it more towards the top of the filter, not towards the engine, you don't want the screwdriver hitting the filter threads....once you do that....start turning....i hat to poke a few holes because once it started to turn, the screwdriver got blocked on the headers.....all you have to do is getting loose enough to turn it by hand....so really only maybe a full turn or so is all you need to get it to hand loosened....
keep working at it...you'll get it off....put down towels or something to catch oil because if you got a lot of oil on the headers, you're going to have white smoke billowing up at you for awhile until it is all completely burnt off the headers... (does not smell good and makes you woozy [&:])

RE: arghhhh....dam* oil filter
bring it over to mah house...i get it off for you.
where did you stab the filter at? how big was the driver? too small and you'll rip the filter. too far in and you hit the thread...just in the middle.
that other tool only mangles and crushes the filter even more. i think with your channel locks that you used, you may have bent the threaded area on the filter, making it tighter. poke a hole through the filter, out the otherside, then turn.

If you don't get the spring loaded filter wrench just put a rubberband around the jaws to keep them from loosening up on ya. That can be a whole new frustration in itself. All the methods suggested so far should work though.

RE: arghhhh....dam* oil filter
I just had this issue about 2 weeks ago. I was able to get it off by wrapping several layers of duct tape around the filter until the filter wrench got stuck on it and it broke free. Then go buy yourself a new K&N filter that has a nut on the top to avoid this issue again.
