plugs/oil/filter/air filter
Since I just bought my F4 about 2 months ago, I don't really know much about when the last maintenance was done.. I plan on cleaning and lubing the chain, changing the oil and filter, spark plugs, and air filter.
For the oil, I plan on using Shell Rotella Synthetic 5w-40 probably.. I used the std petroleum stuff in my last bike, and it worked well. For the filter, I am going to look for a purolator PL14610 (hope to find it local). The plugs, I have to check my owner’s manual, but I lean towards NGKs.. Anyone confirm a part number?
Also, I run K&Ns in both of my Mustangs.. are they worth it for a bike as well? My bike has a slip on, and it smells rich enough to identify it as being jetted.. lol
Any specific recommendations on parts? Does this bike have a gas filter? Is there anything else that you recommend? I’m ITCHIN TO RIDE!!! Supposed to hit 42 tomorrow…. That’s warm enough, right?

I know it might be more expensive, but you really can't go wrong with stock parts (oil filter, plugs). I used Honda HP4 (?) synthetic oil and Honda brand oil filters seeing as it only needs to be changed once a year I figured I would buy trustworthy oil. I don't know the reference numbers for NGK plugs, but I'm sure a dealership would have both OEM and KGK's on hand. If you just bought the bike its probably a good idea to do all the maintenance right away so you know its done right.
