To the OP I see that you have already made your purchase of replacement rubber. This could also help aid others that may be looking for new rubber as I am soon. The tires you chose are def. good ones however I think they may not give a great deal of mileage with the amount of grip that they supply/squaring off with the commuting you do sometimes. I will post a couple links of a tire I recently came across that I am DEF ordering in a couple weeks. It is a dual tread compound. They are the Michelin Pilot Road 3 Rear Tire. They have a perfect 5 star review. Everyone seems to just love them and looking around seem to be very decently priced. Great mileage with a harder compound in the middle plus sticky on the sides with the Pilot Powers 2ct rubber. I was really blown away with the great reviews! They are categorized as sport touring tires, but plenty of people say how they drag knees all the time on them with no problems either! I think i'm in love! Hahaha

never skimp on the rubber. a riding buddy of mine earned the nickname "shinko steve" after 3 shinko-induced lowsides in one season. he saved $50 on tires but now his bike is trashed. don't learn the hard way like steve.

excellent all around street/track tire on a budget: pilot power 2CT

great commuter tire: pilot road 2 or 3

cheapest tire you should consider: pilot power (without dual compound)

i really like michelin but dunlop, pirelli, bridgestone all make good tires too. i've never tried a continental tire, but my granny is rockin continentals on her old buick lol.

 

Anything sport touring. If you're not going to the track or dragging knee on turns, anything stickier is a waste. I've even dragged knee with sport touring tires, yet still got 10k+ miles out of them.

no comments on bt-016's? after ditching the bt-021's, which i got 10k miles out of the front and the rear could still keep going..
i switched to bt-016's and i've gripped like never before. i felt the rear get lose on the 021's, but these stick.
i dunno how long they'll last though. this is on a 2011 ninja 650r though.

 

I have the bridgestone's dual compound not sure of the model. They have lasted 1.5 seasons so far and I do all highway with some hard acceleration and some twists and they still look like they are only weeks old. But when I ride to work it's round trip of 100 miles and these tires have 7k miles on them and are holding up great. But I am not an aggressive rider so keep that in mind for the tires lasting so long.

 

Not only did I drag knee, I blisterd the hell out of the edges from 3 track days with my power pures and still got 10k from a rear and 15k from a front. I still haven't figured out how people get such crap mileage from sport tires.

 

Probably has everything to do with not continually checking their tire pressures from time to time therefore leading to premature wear. I figure if there is one thing you want to be **** about it is your tire pressures.
