Default Motor reving up after new air filter

hey. im wondering if anyone has any ideas for me. i put in a new air filter today cuz the old one was junk. now though the motor revs way up and doesnt drop even after a long time. wondering if anyone has any ideas for me to try?

Did you try messing with the idle cable already?

yup i tried that. didnt help at all. thats what i was hoping it was....

Well, what filter did you have in there, and what did you go to? Also, did you hook all the hoses back up to the airbox properly?

Sounds like an air leak, check to see that the carbs are still clamped onto the head.

You didn't drop anything down one of the carb's?

nope i didnt drop anything down in there. as far as i can tell its hooked up to the block and no air leak there. are there any breather tubes or hoses that could be making it rev up so much?
