Motor Oil And Filter

RE: Motor Oil And Filter
This is one of those impossible oppinion questions but I'll throw something out there. Amsoil has the most concrete data and test results to back up their claims of being the best synthetic, and everyone who knows oil will recommend them. But really any high quality bike oil, synthetic or mineral, when changed every 2K will work well. Synthetics are really just added protection for riders who race, or may not want to worry about the oil changes so often. As for filters, I know that Amsoil again makesxcellent synthetic filters. But this is again another item that if changed at the recommended intervals should have little bearing on engine longevity and reliability. Your going to hear every different oil reped in here somewhere, and thats because as long as its a repuatable company and interval changes are fallowed you'll have no problem. I like amsoil and use it in my truck, but I run Repsol Mineral oil and I have no complaints. Oh and 10W for stop and go riding and 5W for open road and cooler weather riding.
