Glad I found this. This makes me confident that I can accomplish the job of working on the carbs myself! I've done them on my ex-500 before, and will be getting help from a very experienced friend.

Anyways, I have the Dynojet kit Stage I, and I'll probably be putting that in my bike shortly. I read however that Dynojet STRONGLY advises using the stock air filter, yet I have a K+N. Does anyone have any comment on this at all?

I'd call shenanigans. The DJ stage 1 kit comes with jets for stock bikes. Smaller than the ones used for aftermarket filter and exhaust

The stage one says for aftermarket exhaust, and then for highflow aftermarket exhaust, at least in the paperwork with it. It just warns about K+N filters. Gosh darn it, should I just give up on the K+N filter?

Ah, yeah... Keep forgetting this is in the F2 section.

The install instructions for the F2 do say to use the stock air filter.

Do not run this kit without the stock airfilter in place. Running without the stock airfilter will cause turbulence around the main air jet. The turbulence will cause jetting problems that seem to be corrected by a larger main jet. With the larger main jet you will not have proper carburetion thru the entire RPM range.

-Update-

Re-read the documentation on the dynojet stage 1 kit for theCBR600F2. While inside the manual it says to use the stock filter over and over again, it says right on the cover that it's meant for stock filter OR K&N filter. Hasn't been tested for anything else and shown to be effective apparantly!

You two are getting into an area of massive controversy that nobody has been able to find proof of, in either direction. I'd just drop that whole scenario right now, are start a new thread for it.

St. Louis MO lol. Surprisingly the carbs weren't that bad, the jets were the main issue
