Took the 954 out today just trying to get used to it a little more.

With stock sprockets would 5k RPM at 75 MPH in 6th gear be about right? I'm just curious if the previous owner changed the gearing because that's what it was reading today running through town.

Just count the number of teeth on the sprockets. Stock is 16 front and 43 rear

Your speedo is going to read wrong with a different ratio. Thats becuase the speedo dosn't run off the wheel but off the motor.

 

In answer to your question, I have noticed mine usually runs around 5K around 70-80 MPH, so yours sounds about right. Through town though, I rarely get above 3rd-4th gear. [:-]
