Top Speed?
Hi all!Just wondering what sort of top speed you guys are getting from your 1000F's?
I have just recentley fitted a Vance & Hines 4 into 1,K&N filter, and had the bike Dynojetted on a dyno, and its been transformed. Before i could maybe get 155 MPH out of her,but today i got over 170MPH!!!.This was confirmed by a turbo Hyabusa rider,so its not a faulty speedo!!What can you guys get?

I have only ever bothered to run mine to around the 240klm per hr (145mph) and that was pretty much with no effort ....she went straight to it like an express train ...
I think I wont ever bother running to her absolute limit till I do some maintenance ...like my cam chain and tensioner, which are starting to get rather noisy at idle after about 10.000 klms of being a bit rattley
yer om slack ...but hey , she still runs fine , smooth and goes like the clappers mate ...

You are dead right for sure ...
but ...I don't think that is sad at all ...
I think it is a great statement of how Honda and bikes in general have been advancing steadily over the years...
Hey , remember too that.... mine and quite a few others here are near 20 years old ?? ...
Seriously though ...after 150-160 mph is there really any point, or major difference between speeds ... unless you are on a track of course...

It's the only vehicle I've ever owned that I haven't wrung out to top speed. Roads around here where you might get away with it are too crap. I started to float across the tops of the bumps at around 220kph. After about 200kmh I think I'm really just a passenger anyway, as I realise I'm not Rossi. The good roads are thick with cops and most of them know my bike and me.
I recently found a possible road about an hour from home in the car so I'll take a ride out there some time .
All I know is it's fast enough, and gets to 200kmh quick enough to put a big grin on my head!
