Scheduled Maintenance Help Please!!
So I was looking at my owners manual today at all the suggested scheduled maintenance. It says that break fluid should be changed every 12,000 miles. I've never changed my break fluid before. I have 18,200 miles on my 954. Is this something I really need to do? Also they said that the exhaust gas control valve cable should be inspected every 16,000 miles. What the hell is that? Also what do you guys reccomend I use to lubricate my clutch bar and throttle? Is there any other scheduled maintenance I should be thinking of doing soon? I want to keep my bike in top riding condition as long as possible. The engine coolant was flushed not too long ago. The chain is fine and I'm putting a new front tire on. Break pads are not completely worn down but might need to be changed in a year or so. How often do I need to change my plugs and wires? Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.
well here is some advice.. get steel lines, brand dustless pads and then u will have to change ur brake fluid... that's a good maintence and upgrade to do.. as long as you keep up the matinence and check the bike out then those are just suggestions and stuff and to get you to the dealer to pay high labor prices... i would replace spark plugs ever season but that's just me... plugs are coils accuatly and they last for a while and they are not cheap but if u have the money it wont hurt... chain and sprockets are something to keep up on... vavlue adjustment is something you want to think about after 20k... when u have some time give your bike a good once over and u should be fine..
